Windscreens from Radioshack?

I know Radioshack sucks ass for almost everything, but what do you experts out there think of their windscreens? I'm looking for a windscreen for my SM58, and I don't know if I wanna order one online for something that small and cheap...

Do you guys think the Radioshack windscreens are decent? Have any of you ever used Radioshack windscreens?

You might as well try it. After all, how bad can you screw up a wind screen? Even so, they're pretty cheap.

Everything from RS is good, including wind screens.

In all seriousness, I THINK those windscreens are pretty standard. I could be wrong, but id be willing to bet that a $5 windscreen you buy at Radio Shack is damn near the exact same thing you buy for $5 at Guitar Satan.

Most windscreens are produced in China and are all pretty much the same. Radio Shack has recently started using the Mexican made ones and they seem to have an effect around 1khz. If you can find one of the 80's radio shack screens with the better micro pore construction they are much better.

Avoid the green ones as they are usually a little more tinny.

I'd stay away from the tube wind screens at RS...

unless the happen to be stolen Gidge-o-matic's...

I made a smokin' wind screen using an embroidery hoop ($1.50) and a pair of nylons. I know of some pro studios that have done the same.

db51- oddly enough a windscreen will help on a 58... when it's windy.

They are also handy if you need to color code wireless mics.

I know some wind screens can cause feedback problems in live use. The ones we have at work are really bad, also they change the sound of the 58 somewhat.

The windscreen that came with my C1 is compleatly transparent as far as I can tell. Anyone know where I can get replacements or some of them for my other mics?

I have a ball foam windscream from radioshack on my sm57.
Ive never used it....but I cant see how it wouldnt work..
