Win XP - SP2 ... do you need to install SP1 ?

Windows XP - Service Pack 2 ... do you need Service Pack 1 ?

Please clarify ....
If I have original XP loaded, do I need to install SP1 before SP2, or will installing SP2 will do the trick / perform the necessary upgrades ?

you dont? oh i thought you did.... hmm well that s probably a good thing. SP2 does wonky things to my internet connection so i'm leaving it off for now

Uhhhhh....

Strickly speaking, no, you do not need to install SP1, however, you SHOULD install SP1 before installing SP2 so that you can roll back if there are issues with SP2. Set a restore point before each SP install.
