I don't know if this has been brought up before so here goes:

What I want to know is, when I bounce my tracks down on my software can I use the wave from that project and put it back in the MR8 as a stereo track?

yah

unless i am missing something...yes. if you can record via a patch cord to a stereo, and capture a stereo track that way, you could use the stereo "bounce down" track the same way.

I think I'm missing something, here goes again.

1. I record using all tracks up on my MR8
2. I then transfer my tracks to my PC via Cakewalk
3. I mix and bounce down to 1 track on Cakewalk
4. Since I have already mixed down here in the software to one track can I just use that same .wav and put it back into the MR8 and then add more tracks?

:)

You are certainly able to do excactly that on your MR-8 - this feature was my main reason for buying one myself...

Given you have transferred all 8 tracks from the MR-8 to the PC and mixed them all down to a (mono) wave file, do the following:

1) Rename the mixed down track to "tr08.wav"

2) Create a fresh project on the MR-8

3) Transfer the wave file to the MR-8 via USB (I assume you already know how to do that, otherwise consult your manual)

4) On the MR-8, the mix will now sit on track 8, ready for more tracks to be overdubbed (provided you have enough space left on the CF-card)

Note: Putting the premix on track 8 allows for greater flexibility by freeing tracks 1-7. You will particularly want tracks 1-4 to be free. Alternately, you may make a stereo mix, split it into two mono wave files named "tr07.wav" (left) and "tr08.wav" (right) respectively.

Please feel free to ask if this isn't clear to you.

Happy trackin'!

NO (way wrong)

if you import a file back to the mr8, it has to be a 16 bit 441 sample rate and a MONO file, right in the manual.......

use wav manager from foste, name file tr01.wav and the MONO file will work but you cannot import a stero file to the mr8

Actually, I wrote: "Alternately, you may make a stereo mix, split it into two mono wave files named "tr07.wav" (left) and "tr08.wav" (right) respectively..." I just forgot to add: "... and import those two mono files into the MR-8...

Didn't mean to confuse anyone...
