would that be okay for a pop punk band?

i have a crate half stack, all tubes, and i dont like it too much.

i know its solid state, but shitttttt, my bands pop punk, does it matter?

heres what my guitar sounds like now www.myspace.com/turdfergusonhxc

so question is...

should i buy it, or should i wait it out and get something thats suppppppper expensive?

suggestions please, this dilemas angering me.

just curious, what amp is it that you have now? a blue voodoo?

anyway, I've actually never heard of that specific amp before, but I have had good experiences with solid-state fenders (although tubes are better IMHO) so I would say go for it. But definately go play one if at all possible to see if its what you would like it. It's really all up to you.

Hope that helped.

The FM100's distortion is kind of a buzzy high frequency sound. Nothing at all like an overdrive crunch sound of a Marshall. If thats something you like, or don't mind, then it may work for you.

i have a gt500h tube amp.

if i bought a separate distortion pedal would it fix that and make it a lot crunchier?

If you are willing to buy a seperate distortion pedal, why not just do that and use it with your crate. You would just be using your crate's clean channel, so I doubt if the crate would color the sound all that much.

Just an idea..
