Will my foam adhesive tear down the drywall?

I have foam panels on the wall in the vocal booth, however they are held up by small nails that are starting to tear ever growing holes in the foam panels. When I bought the foam panels they came with "313 Foam & Fabric Spray Adhesive" and I didn't use this because I am still living with my parents and they don't want the drywall to be pulled off when I move the studio somewhere else.

So, if I use the adhesive to attach the panels, will they tear away the drywall when I remove them?

The bottle offers a "temporary or repositionable bond" if I spray only the wall. Will this hold the panel but prevent me from damaging the drywall later on?

If you didn't use the adhesive in the first place...why are you asking the question post haste?

It stands to reason though that if you use any type of glue to bond your foam panesl to drywall that there could be a sticky problem when it comes to removal. Common sense sort of dictates that......don't ya think? ;)
 
I'm asking now because the panels are about to fall down because the holes are getting so big. I need to find a different way to keep them on the wall.

I know that it will will be a sticky removal, I just want to know how sticky it will be.
 
glue them on pieces of paneling or quarter inch plywood, etc... and then hang it like a large picture.
 
The glue will ruin the drywall. It will either tear off the paper or leave a sticky residue that you can't sand off or really paint over.

If you don't like the plywood idea, try heavy construction paper.

I made the mistake of gluing these things to the wall. The walls are messed up and every time the humidity changes half of them fall down.
 
As suggested, glue them to cardboard or wood and then tack 'em up.
 
Any sonic advantages or disadvantages to using foam core board?
It's costlier than construction paper, but far more rigid, and much lighter than wood....
 
Forget the tacks or small nails. Mount the panels with screws and use a washer on both the front and back side to prevent the foam from tearing.
