Hi there, I just got a new system and my old 20 bit Gina just won't work with it no matter what I do. Anyone know how to remedy this? If I do have to get a new interface, I was thinking of going with the Layla 3G. The other problem I'm having is with my Adobe Audition. I had version 1 on my old system, and wanted to upgrade it to Version 3. Anyone run into problems doing this with 64 bit Vista? Thanks!

I don't have Vista but have had problems since loading my pc with XP 64. Several programs had to be deleted or reloaded with a XP 64 bit version.

Windows dropped xp64, they went to Vista64 which didn't work very well either...and now are going to sell everyone "7"....

Maybe no one responds because its a dead horse issue, a black hole with no "fix" or answer....a Windows "black hole" product?

I'm just going to blindly download 32 or 64 bit versions of free ware and if it doesn't work and I get 32 bit error pop-ups, oh well!

good luck.

Lots of things work with vista 64 but you need to check the specs of what you want to run first as well as driver sipport to ensure 64 bit vista drivers are available

XP 64 bet you're pretty much out of luck. This OS was never commercially released to the public, it was only ever available as an OEM version meant for big box system builders and it was more or less universally shunned by them at the time meaning driver supoort is almost non existent and almost no software was written with XP 64 bit as a consideration.

Audition 3 for example is only certified to run on 32 bit systems. That doesn't mean it won't run on 64bit but it does mean that any problems you get you won't be covered by adobes tech support since you are using an unsupported OS. This doesn't really have anything to do with microsoft it just means that as of right now adobe have chosen not to develop a 64bit application.

Check the manufactureres spec before you buy anything they're all posted on their websites under system requirements but for example I know that Cubase, Nuendo, Acid and Sonar are all able to support vista 64 bit as of their latest releases.
VSTs can be a challenge as many are only coded for 32 bit operation but there are patches and emulators that can get you around this until the developers catch up with the technology.
The advent of windows 7 (which is a very nice OS in the Beta version I am testing) will force developers toward 64bit. It shouldn't be a huge leap for most of them since MAC has been 64bit for a good while already
