I have..I lived in Houston for a while

its not going to turn CD sales into vinyl sales regardless..oh and American music is shit anyway..it sounded like a city full of Steely Dan wannabes :D

Hey Chili, you might want to go ahead and move this into the Cave as it has slid into the depths of hell already.

Let's get one thing straight:

ez_willis: major label record release that I'm willing to bet was tracked to tape.

the rest of us pukes: nada.

Y'all should kneel before him as your king! :p

On a serious note: somebody on GS with serious MechE/Chicomm manufacturing experience estimated the cost of a new modern 2", given the small market, as $100K. Since used decks are so much cheaper, I think the best you can hope for is a small machine shop churning out spare parts.

Although comment #1 was serious too. Kneel! Bow down!

OK, so let me get this straight... If I get a major release or have a gazillion rep points, I too reserve the right to act like a know-it-all jackass and hi-jack the shit out of any forum / thread I please, right? Cool, good to know.

ez's not acting. He is a know-it-all jackass! Jealous . . . jealous again? ;)

correct, but i don't see any of that happening so you don't really need to train for it.

how have i hijacked this thread? I have addressed the OP's question and have been giving my opinion on the overall direction of the analog format. It ain't my fault that i am successful AND happen to know-it-all, too .

2". lots of it. that was before computers and automobiles.

Strictly speaking, I was composing boring four part harmonies as an exercise for my Music Theory AP class on my Apple ][gs in 1988 . . . and look where that got me! I should have stuck to recording four-guitar part harmonies on crap cassette 4-tracks, but that didn't get me anywhere either :(

c. 1984, my brother was transcribing popular hits of the day, like "Total Eclipse of the Heart", using the PEEK and POKE functions on our earlier Apple ][+. That sounds excitingly filthy, but trust me, it wasn't :(

i can only assume at this point that you have no idea what you're talking about, so i bid you a good day and no hard feelings!

No but we respect each other, have a certain decorum we post by and don't bolt to another forum, to stir up shit, just for the kicks.

Let's get one thing straight: the Analog forum is the best ever, which is why I promoted it to the top group. Together with the greatness of ez_willis, the Analog forum cannot be defeated by conventional means!

more romantic nonsense

I'm not romantic...

i am very serious about analog (recording and playback) as well as about the city i live in. but i have taken no offense to your previous posts. you are obviously being silly with it all and that is fine, but its kind of fun and there needs to be some balance to the silliness.

...and, see, that's the problem. If you had just left us be, way, way down, at the BOTTOM, under the "Special Forums" section, right near "Kitty place" or whatever it was called;) then, then we most likely would not be subjected to Mr ez-will's "greatness" 'cause, in most probability, he would not have even found us. :D;) Maybe we should have stayed in obscurity.
