sounds alot like some early blink 182 stuff.

theyre my fav band though, so its not a problem.

I dont really know whatto do for a bass line witht hat though

You might want to post this in the mp3 mixing clinic - folks over there have been known to collaborate.

Although not exactly my style, my initial thought would be a walking bass part to tie the other parts together. You have a number or repetitive runs and some repeated chords between bass, drums, and guitar. All three sounds like too many.

You may think this crazy, but listen to the bass part in the Beatles song "all my lovin". Parts of the song have a walking bass part, and a variation on that might work here. that's my 2 cents...

Okay Thanks, I really wasn't sure where to put it. It will be there now

hey, i can record some stuff for you within the next few days if you want. honestly since this is "punk music" you really don't need anything other than what it's doing. i can throw in my own style if you'd like though.

oh by the way; you ended on the riffs from carousel by blink 182. ;)

honestly man, i've been playing with this song for well over half hour. your bass player wrote some pretty solid riffs. honestly, with this kind of music, there's not much to be done. bass is rhythm, guitar is lead. the bass couldn't stand out more if you wanted it to, it's already out there enough. on that soft part, if anything tell him to experiment with the higher notes. that's all i can recommend. i can't write anything "better" persay.

sorry,

steve

hey dont go nocking the bass player of your band, he has feelings too :)

id say, thats a pretty solid bass line for that style of music. the only thing id add would be little licks.

like in the bass line for 'party, my house, be there' by mxpx, take a listen, or if you know the song you know what im talkin about.

but, for punk.....playing the root note of the chord realllllly fast is usually your best bet.
