I believe it was decided by the powers that be that the joe meek demographic was pretty much covered with the VC3Q (art mp/audiophile/V67 guys) and the VC1Q (soundcraft/delta 1010/rode NTK guys). They figured they would force the guys on the fence (the omni studio crowd) to just spring the extra $ for the VC1Q. So in essence theyre trying to phase out that middle prosumer demographic and convert them all to professional prosumer and thus improve the quality of recordings worldwide AND make more money in the process. Hahahaha.
