I just dont get any sound coming through at all and htis is my first time using a condenser so I could be doing something wrong. Here's my exact setup. SP B1 (XLR female / 1/4" male cable) into DMP2 (with phantom on) connected to SB Live (line in) with a 1/4" / 1/4" cable with a 1/8" adaptor.
Now all my recording software and my SB live is setup properly cause I can record onto Sonar no problem with my Sennheiser E835 with the exact setup as above.
I have 1 hypothesis which I hope is the problem and not that I bought a dud mic. Do I need male/female XLR to go from the condenser to the DMP2 pre in order to get phantom power to the mic?? as opposed to the XLR (mic end) / 1/4" (pre end) cable that I am using??
If not what else is wrong here under the circumstances that my dynamic mic works fine through this setup?? Thanks VERY MUCH -BJ
