How important is a word clock? Do I have to have to produce a professional recording? Any input iswoul dbe great

it just sets "encrypting" to the same levels everywhere.

Suppose your sound card runs at 44htz 24bit and you try to record guitar with a v-amp setted at 96 24 it won't work, will record all speed, etc. so the word clock just tells the v-amp to run at 44 96 instead.

not an obligation to have but not useless, considering you can also get in the hardware settings of the rig and change it

correct me if I'm wrong anyone :D

You're wrong.

There are plenty of threads here that discuss why you would want a word-clock. Just perform a simple search and the mysteries shall be revealed.
