QUOTE MEEEEEEE

Okay,

Im interested in TRUTHE
You are functionally illiterate and any reputable college would require you to complete remedial English as the first order of business to insure your academic success. However Fullsail, I am sure, will have no problems with signing you on the dotted line and ignoring the issue.

Think about stuff before you post plz..
Amen. Good advice. Start following it.

Hope you get over the flu.

Yes good job... I love it.. I hope I have spelled " love " right.. hmmm.. yes good job wheelma...

thank you foreverin4

people were just tryin' to correct Thirst statements but now you're just as pointless as any fool...

i was simply trying to point out the 2 very different approaches bluebear and thirst have on the situation. truth is, recording hip hop/rap/whatever, you do not need an extremly high end card. you are not recording acoustic instruments such as drums, acoustic guitar, etc. at the most it would be the human voice. which, for the style, would not require alot of high end equipment either...

what was buried on this entire thread was Manning1's advice, which I feel is the best given (short of education and experience are obviously the best tools toward improving recordings).

The best *budget* card with serious audio specific converters is the Hoontech DSP24Value. It's similar to the audiophile but has spdif optical and coaxial bracket, w/ midi, The only not so great part is its rca in's and out's. But if you had a soundblaster, you wouldn't need new cables.

plus, you'd at least have a audio specific sc.

Things I love on this thread...

2. Somebody feeds the bear...

3. Hiphop...

You cannot mix those in one thread, you know :D :D :D

umm..right.. if you read my posts I very much did, I just didnt take the time out to break down your posts like you had so generously did for me.. I proved that school is state of the art, world renowned, and worth it for anyone whos willing to put in 150% in like any other type of school..

State of the art? Yes.
World Renowned? Notorious is more like it.
Worth It? No. It doesn't matter how much of a percentage you give to that school, they give you 0 in return. If you are going to give your "career" 150%, then just do it. You don't need Full Sail to give your dream all you've got to give.

You get out of it what you put in, if you really look at it you dont have to go to school for anything except for like being a lawyer or a doctor, u have to go to school for those careers, I mean I could read a thousand books on open heart surgeory n be mr fixit with hearts but they are not going to let me into the ER without a PHD now will they? same with not passing the bar @ law school..

Again, Full Sail does not pay back what you pay in. Also, the bar is essentially an aptitude test that the state administers so you can gain your license to practice law within said state. Technically, you don't need to go to law school to take the bar.

all the people that went to fullsail and arent working in the industry now is becuz they are WEAK, they didnt put enough passion into learning it, and they gave up.. Much like they probably will do with the rest of the things in there life, Becuz If I spent 34k on school best believe Im reading every book I get and then some, weither the school is good or not id just make good of there studio equipment and such.. enjoy.. ..

Weak, am I? Hmmm. I should have thought of that. If only I would have accepted my own weakness and not even gone. Damn this weakness of mine! DAMN IT ALL TO HELL!!

I've read your posts about Full Sail and now your posts about SoundBlaster and you are full of fire, but you seem to be contradicting yourself a bit. You seem to think that you will acheive "success" because you will give 150%, but when you come here and converse with people you fail to accept that there are people here who know more than you. Whenever you do that, you're not giving 150%. It's one thing to know your stuff, but that's not the only thing. Dealing with others is probably 99% of your job as an engineer. If you can't accept others opinions, then you my friend are not going to make it in the industry.

Just a little truth.

Well, there you are. The Truth. Everybody else who had a different opinon was just blowing smoke up your ass because you're a rap artist.

You're too sharp for us!

Thirst.........

We all here at HR.COM are offering constructive criticism. ;)

If we were just trying to bash you then we would attack your grammar.

We are not saying that you can't make a decent recording with a SB card.

We ARE saying that a DELTA card sounds better that a SB card.

The reason that the DELTA sounds better than the SB is because of the AD/DA converters used.

If AD/DA converters were all created equal then you would be able to compare an Apogee to a SoundBlaster.

But...... of, course, there is NO comparison between an Apogee AD-16 DA-16 soundcard and a Sound Blaster soundcard, at all, whatsoever.

The Apogee's converters will/would/can smoke the pants off of a SB.

That is like saying that you can compare a Manley piece to a Behringer piece (and we ALL know that there is NO comparison).

The reason that we know this to be true is because we have used both (low end to high end gear).

Peace....

Now that I am at home I listened to the music samples in question....

There's no doubt in my mind you could sound clearer with a better soundcard, but I think you are going for the grimey vocal sound. And since you are rhyming, it doesn't matter that much because dynamic range doesn't matter to you. Unless you find a way to get Ashanti or Christina Aguilera on one of your tunes.

If you were to record acoustic instruments or someone singing in a higher range than your voice who has no grittiness, then I think the difference would be clear between a SB and a dedicated recording soundcard.

Just my opinion.

^ Yes... And the person who originally posted this thread is doing hiphop, thus i cling to my statement that he doesnt need another sound card...

I dont contradict myself I just think Im always learning weither you realize it or not, As per fullsail, I listened to all of your statements and took them in, I defended all the things I thought you were maybe speaking wrong about.. Now Im not going to full sail becuz of this board and my own decision, but I think that is just because of the type of person I am, Id rather learn something myself from reading and on my own rather then paying someone.. Some other people arent like that and so I still do not think in any way that school is bad.. As for the soundblaster card, yes. It Is not the best sounding but when a buddy of mine uses it and we put together a track recorded off 2 seperate soundcards and I get comments that mine is better Im assuming the soundblaster can and is possible of most definately competing with high brands to an extent.. I would never buy a delta 66 over my soundblaster I would just save up for the next level up becuz for the marginal price difference I dont believe there is enough dollar to quality gain ratio in there... jus my initial thought...

i think i read on another thread that you just got out of the army? how did you survive with your attitude man!!

Are you serious lol... now Im gettin judged haha.. I dont have an attitude I jus go against the grain sometimes You guys shouldnt take it so seriously. I was very dedicated in the military for your information.. Running my 2 mile in 10:46, doing every shit job I could trying to land a spot somewhere that would be nice, turns out with any amount of hardwork in the military you wont go no where without connections.. sad... Im not thick as a brick blue bear, u might think so but ive read every post in this forum and learned from them, just cuz I dont reply saying something like " my eyes are now peeled back from the information that smacked me in the middle of my forehead " lol.. Im learning at all times..

Ps: This is like a relationship.. At First we were quiet feelin eachother out, then we started to conversate, we just argued at alot and now like everyone else it will bring us to a closer more tranquil friendship..... smile...

Here's more learning for you.......

"conversate" is not a word.........

People have a conversation, or they may converse with each other.... but they do not "conversate".............
