Hi,
OK I'm a newbie. WHY does everyone seem to recommend EXTERNAL (FireWire or other) drives.
Isn't it the speed of the drive that matters, and not so much wether it's internal or external? So if I get an internal 7200 RPM drive, with a 8MB Buffer - that's dedicated strictly to recording, won't I be ok?
I know how fast FireWire is.... but that doesn't matter, if the drive the speed is slower than the line or bus speed. Isn't the 'slowest' link in the chain is the drive speed or essentially I/O ?
I don't understand why EXTERNAL drives are always recommended?

Thanks In Advance and
PLEASE Explain your answer if you would
