Now, I'm not looking for an supply/demand lecture here, but crusin through the pages of my musiciansfriend catalogue, I came across a few cards that seemingly did the same thing. 10 in, 10 out recording capability.

Delta 1010LT PCI Digital Audio System (280$)

Aardvark Direct Pro Q10 (830$)

Aardvark Aark 24 (600$)

All three claim 10in, 10out (seems more like 8,8 to me but ok...). Th e delta doesn't have a nice little metal box for the i/o, which can't be the only thing saving it 350+ dollars, right?

Actually it does make a difference. The LT is just a PCI card with cables where as the 1010 has a cabinet. Also, AD/DA converter quality makes a difference.

Differences:

Q10 has 8 preamps, s/pdif, dedicated monitoring, Word Clock, MIDI, 2 (switchable) hi z inputs, and four inserts for the first four preamps

1010lt looks like two pres and all of the other connections are unbalanced (RCA). It also has midi, and s/pdif.

Aark 24 has 8 i/o 1/4 jack, MIDI, Word Clock, and ADAT I/O.

Take that all with a grain of salt. I haven't heard any of them, I'm just looking at them on the sites.
