Why do so few people seem to use Digital Performer

Thepoll on what software people uses had many choices but did not include Digital Performer. I am curious as to why that is. It seems to me that Pro Tools and Digital Performer are the most often used software by professionals. Am I mistaken?
 
It came with my MOTU but it only runs on a MAC. I sold my G4 and just do PCs now.

It's great and Macs are great. (for God's sake, people, please do not flame about mac vs pc)

This BB is great too, but mac people are in the minority here. Poll results and the general weight of opinion on the BB reflects this, so when it comes to computer s/w and h/w, the stuff that works great on macs may not get a fair shake here if it doesn't work as well (or at all) on PC's

There are a few DP forums out there, unicornation.com is my favorite.
 
No flames from me. MACs are cool. PCs are cool. PCs are just cheaper and do exactly the same job and as new and improved everything is always coming down the pike, software and hardware is just more affordable.
 
I've used DP, and to be sure it is a very powerfull piece of software......but I've never had to spend so much time searching through a manual to do the simplest things. Steeeeep learning curve on that one, and totally counter intuitive.

MACS SUCK MACS ARE POO I HATE MACS :D

Just kidding I really like Macs, the only reason I don't have one is because I'm a cheapskate, and I can build a PC cheaper.

My wife likes the fact that PC's are cheaper too :D

But everytime I walk past the Mac Store I show her how cool the shiny G4 towers are, and how cute the iBooks are.

One day she'll bend :D
