The Sonar metronome is midi. You must have a midi sound synthesizer in order to use it - e.g., a midi capable sound card, or an external midi sound source.
Lucky you. I hate that metronome. Just converted a bunch of midi files to audio. Don't know how many times I had to start over, because I forgot to turn off the metronome.
Does anyone know of a way to make metronome off the default for all projects?
... ah eh uuhm .... What I record is midi. I send the sound module through SP/DIF to record the instruments from a midi file, so naturally the metronome will come along too.
Cakwalk is also comming with a solution for us...not in the 3.1 patch that are sceduled to come out to day, but in the next "next major release"
This is what Ron Kuper from Cakewalk said about it:
"We know an audio metronome is way, way overdue. We couldn't get it in the 3.1 update because it's actually a suprisingly risky change to be making to the code, and we didn't want to jeapordize the stability of the update.
The audio metronome is the first feature we're going to tackle for the next major release. "
