Who put the 24 in the Audiophile 2496?

All the specs say that the Audiophile 2496 does 24 bits...

How?

More specifically, how do I set it to do 24bit S/PDIF? (is there such a thing?)

I can't find that info in the settings or manual.

S/PDIF is a 24bit digital interface to begin with if I'm not mistaken...

As Stealth said, you set your bitrate in whatever recording program you are using. This of course assumes the software you are using supports 24 bit audio...

If you are using the spdif input then you have to buy an outboard AD converter. The outboard AD converter will determine if you are recording in 24 bits.

Are you only taking advantage of the 24bits if you are going through the SPDIF ins, or are the 24 bits still there when going through the analog rca ins?

The Audiophile's A/D convertors are 24-bit.
