My favorite thing about Gilmour is how humble he is. He always says he's not that good of a guitar player, he just plays with the hands god gave him. He can't play fast or technical, so he just hits the right notes and gives every note as much feeling as he can. And man can he hit em'... Has anyone seen his Live DVD that came out recently? It's really fun to watch him play without all the fancy backup stuff.

Pat Travers Band Live Album "Go For What You Know"

Yeah man!!! BOOM BOOM OUT GO THE LIGHTS!!!!
Pat Travers was awsome, then he fell off the face of the earth after the 70's.

And what about Frank Marino and Mahogony Rush!!!

Pat Thrall is a great player. I wondered what happened to him? Last I knew he was doing producing...

and didnt you just feel sorry for any guitarist that had to play in Ted Nugents band, Poor guys!!!

listening to yes and steve howe when I was a youngster. I can never even come close to him. And on the other end was Jimmy Buffet

I used to be a drummer? From like 1973or so...Then my mom made me take guitar lesson because she wanted to learn but was to shy about it...so I was the surrogate student. After 2 months I got to go back to drums...My parents listened to old stuff...Sinatra, the Buckaroo's, Boston Pops kinds stuff with some country thrown in. I played drums all the way up to high school, I didn't get along with the kids in the band classes, I was heavily in to KISS.. Well one day a friend brought over a guitar, a strat and lil fender amp and played around with it and I liked the way it felt, the way it sounded....Circa 1982??83
The Song was.......RUSH...Spirit of Radio! But my parents wouldn't let me take lesson because of the drum investment and they thought Id grow out of it.. I bought a Gibson Explorer with money I got with my first job, 1 year later..IM still not learning anything...Too hard. Then my dad breaks my explorer on accident and refuses to replace it. Then he says, you take lessons once a week, for a year or so and Ill buy a used guitar for me.
I got this used Ibanez and off I went. That was 1986.

And I still haven't learned Spirit of Radio!

I went off on an Ozzy trip...Randy Rhoads kinda thingie.

Hows that for beating around the bush!

SoMm
