To simplify this let me explain what I (a computer recording novice) am trying to do:

I have a Roland midi sequencer that I normally connect to a cheapo Casio Keyboard. Then I record my finished material to a pretty nice four-track program and add vocals. My creations are ok, but of course the music is starting to sound like cheap music.

My question is are there "virtual keyboards" out there? I got my hands on this reaktor synthesizer (reaktor v2.3) hoping that I can run my sequencer through it for improved, professional sounding music. But I am totally lost on how to set it up. I've learned a lot about computer recording, but still a lllloooonnnggg way from the top. Someone please direct me.

yes.

Well. Reaktor sounds really nice, but you kinda have to know what you're doing. There's a lot of things out there that people have made for reaktor, but there's not that many that sound really good. I suggest building something that does what you need it to do. Of course, then you have to know what you're doing, and if you just recently got the prog, and have no background in modular synthesis or audio processing, then you probably don't. in which case you might want to do some tutorials. i think there's a couple on the computer music website (www.computermusic.co.uk)
