. . . But that doesn`t have a damn thing to do with how much talent the one like or I don`t like has. I found over time that what we hear from an artist never really reflects the volume of talent they have, only reflects a segment of what they may have chosen to reveal and we respond according to familiarity and whether we are stroked byemotional connections to the piece.
I feel, and I feel that there are others that feel the same way, that a judgement as to who has the most "talent" is simply a piss in the wind as far as any reasonable logic is concerned. A logical comparison between stylists following a protocal would be more realistic. . .

. . . If we fogies piss you off it surely isnt intended, it`s just...guess what? we been there too, and are past it and only hope to leave some shortcuts to wisdom when we can. Sometimes it just dont pan out, but thats they way of the world...jus keep Rockin!!! its all good! :) . . .
What Toki said! (and what happened to your hair in your avatar, man?)

And Speedemons stuff about rock and roll being about all the 'B's - Booze, Babes, Burgers, Bad Ass cars, etc is right on the money.

So the deal here is that these guys are all about being rock and roll stars. And guys like Carlton, Morse, Metheny et al don't figure in those stakes because they're musicians.

Which is a whole different arena to operate in.

Whoa there. Just because the guys he picked might not be the best musicians (by a long shot) out there doesn't mean you should bash the hell out of this guy, he just asked "who is more talented?" Not "call me a retard because my taste in music sucks" Although I do agree that anyone from Michael Angelo Batio, to Django Reinhardt, to the guy whos lawn I used to cut could destroy these guys. I don't know...just reminds me of the people that only listen to the top 5 flavours of the week bashing me for listening to my stuff.

Fuckin' A! Let's not forget Warren DeMartini... those guys will kick them Nu-methyl ;) fags some serious ass!

That's why my motto remains: 80's hair metal will rule nu-metal any time! If it wasn't for those lumberjack/unshaven grunge wimps, it would still be around and that faggish nu metal would have never surfaced and would only be a mere fantasy of some big shot a&r, who thinks he knows music. THERE! :p
I dont like nu-metal or 80's metal. But I think it is just as funny as hell that anyone that is into 80's metal could call someone a fag and keep a straight face.

Mike Einzinger is one of the most talented guitar players of probably all of the top rock bands today. Anyone who has ever actually looked into his playing ability will agree. Anyone who doesn't agree hasn't really listened to him. Don't try to act like just because someone plays jazz that they are good. Mike knows his theory very well. Mike could jump in and play in almost any jazz group period.

edit: I'm barely an incubus fan

Open your eyes. We have some top class engineers here.

And I vote Al DiMeola.

EDIT: Old thread, oh well.

Which tastes better:
fresh shit, dessicated shit or canned shit?
Same question really.

Mike the guitar player for incubus or either of the korn guitarists?

You are getting a hard time because your questions is just like asking: "What's a better $99 guitar, a Fender Squire or a Gibons Epiphone?"

The answer is they both suck ass in comparison to real guitars, but if anyone is really after an answer, it would be: Whichever feels best to you, you little sissy bitch. :D

I think you could be a bit more open minded. There are guitarists out there that make those two sound like sped ed kids.

how can you compare a korn guitarist to a guitarist with a masters in music, no comparison.
Why is jazz sooo up its own ass? realistically its only maths teachers and the metally ill who like jazz
