we don't need rest!!
when your Casio strings take a solo, they are too loud and/or need to be a stereo patch.
I'll say this about all your songs.... Your writing is good, but the playing is VERY minimalistic. No...don't go throwing in some Eddie VH licks... but the instrumental performances lack a show of technique and experience. Granted, what is played is played well, correctly, and for the most part, free of errors, in time (almost tOO much in tempo...maybe causing that lack of a "feel"), and recorded pretty clean as compared to what is presented around here. But the guitar playing feels stiff and uninspired, and one gets the feeling, that as even the simple the part the guitars are playing, recording 'punchins' where needed to get your 'flawless' performance. Also, they do sound very "direct in" and compressed with cheezy stomp box compression.
I know probably the entire mp3 clinic listening crowd is going to revolt and say that music is NOT about technique and a show of chops, but I think a little flash here and there (if even just a juicy hammer off or two, every now and then) would spice things up a bit. I know you can't say the same thing about vocals, as it's all about whether you like them or not.
You have a knack for writing interesting tunes, and a style that you've created that is all your own. A little more showmanship on the instruments (and it doesn't have to be anything special....just something more than 1/4 notes!) would make this a lot more "pro"...whatever the F that means!!
where was the skin flute in this tune, this time around??
actually...nice job.
