I need someone that can do about 8-10 tracks for me in the next 3 months. I need someone that:
Is really good....
And...
Has a marketable voice for rock.
And...
is willing to take a little road trip to a studio at my expense if necc.
I might fly someone in if I have to. I want someone really really good for this project, it requires it. It will be shopped vigourously.
Any suggestions? with my 14.4 dialup, I never really get to listen to anyones stuff, so I dont know whos good at what, really.
WHere are you at, singers? Not in my hometown, thats for sure.

Here's what I get when I click that link:

I hate to burst your bubble like this but,

I figured it was best if you knew that voices dont sell songs. Wildcards sell songs.

Well, I have never been as confident about my material as I am right now, and the fastest thing to ruin it would be a sub-par singer. I need someone that can nail it, and that can nail it again and again if asked to do so.
The guy that carried Flaw and Outspoken though thier major label releases has expressed solid interest in my material, and he will not shop my stuff if its not right, and the singer is the most important element as far as he and the companies are concerned.
Dont get me wrong, I have no false hopes of fame and stardom, but if there is another chance for me, I'll take it. I certainly dont want to blow it by settling.
If I can find someone willing to sing, and he likes them and can sell the material, and considering the $100,000+ that each member of Flaw and Outspoken picked up on signing, I think that relocation wouldnt be a problem for a lot of musicians that are dying to make a living at thier art. I certainly cannot find the right singer in my home town.
I'm just babbling, I just found out my grandma has colon and pancreatic cancer and its fucking killing me and I'm typing my way through a panic. I should be solid asleep right now.
Peace...

hey dude,

what style of rock are you looking for?....(drop some names here)

because there are some very unique voices on this BBS....

btw, sorry to hear about your grandma.....

That link doesnt work.Deep linking is prohibited by mp3.com.

hey tubedude, why don't you post a link to your songs with a scratch vocal and with no vocal and we can all have fun destroying your music with our individual vocal abilities :):):):)

Try www.mp3.com/tornacade and its the 3rd one listed thats the one I linked to.
I'll go and listen to these other guys stuff and see if I think it'll work on my stuff, and make some offers...
Anyone else to look in to?

Turn it into Country and I'm there for ya ;) :D

Sorry to hear about your Grandma. Hope everything turns out ok :(

I really appreciate the comment... but I'd have to disagree.. ;) :p :D

If I personally had to choose a frontman for a modern "rock" band among the singers I have heard on this site, I would say there are only two candidates.

This guy

and...

This guy.

They have "it". You know... the "it" that you can't get from practice or aquire through buying more gear or taking more lessons. :p They have distinct voices that are pleasant to listen to and would work well in mainstream rock. The first guy has a voice that lends itself a bit more to aggressive rock, though.

Now.. most of you are flipping oat wondering why I didn't pick Erland... :p But he asked for a "rock" voice... so I gave him what I thought would work best for that genre. Don't get me wrong... if someone asked me to put together a solo-artist, acoustic type, mainstream gig, then I would sell my left nut to have Erland front that thing... :D :p

LOL... ok.. forget that entire post... :p

I just listened to the tune you posted in another thread... (shoulda done that first) :p

The problem with "rock" today is that it can mean anything... my idea of what "rock" is, and someone else's idea of what "rock" is can be two entirely different things.. :p Anyway... those two guys might not be the best choice for the style you're playing... the first guy has a very "gritty" quality to his voice, so he's still a candidate somewhat, but the second will definitely not "mesh" with your style. :p Since you're working with a more agressive flavor of "rock" than I initially thought, then I would also say that Sluice would be a good fit.

Hehehe....umm, while I appreciate the heart of my friend Gidge, I'm about as "rock" as Liberace, so...

Jamal's good.
(I suggest you give a listen to "Last Hurrah") www.nowhereradio.com/mynewhead/singles

buh-bye

sorry dude, but if i listened to "Supposed to Do" and somebody told me it was a Bon Jovi demo, id believe it.....your stuff may lean the other way, but there is "rock" inside of you......
