My last tune was a little funky, so I stayed in that mode and wrote this in the last few days...Stupid lyrics, but fun...A semi-throwaway song, but I think it has potential...I hope...Maybe not. I love singing about the female anatomy...

PINK UMBRELLA

that's pimp shit. nice song, the lyrics are great haha. im sure you've posted this elsewhere before, but whats your drum recording setup?

Nice guitar tones Rami. The funky one is just too cool. Good vocals, as usual... :p I think it's a great tune. Somewhat tongue in cheek, but not false. Great bass sounds. You got your shit set up well. You capture the tones pretty consistently. the bass and drums interact well. Very complimentary of each other. Funky, but also a straight forward rocker. Never lost interest. Dude, you are the mutant machine. :D

Cool Ido...I have a simple drum recording set up. SM57 on snare, D112 on kik and 2 C1000's as overheads. I go straight in to my TASCAM 2488 and only compress and eq after tracking.

Oh, and Rami, I hate your guts...... :D
Ok, not really, but I have to fun you some how........ :)

man, your drums always sound kick ass. you got the skills.

Thanx Dog...It was fun...Funny that you said "tongue in cheek" because I "Tongue in Cheek...Literally" as the blurb for the song on SOUNDCLICK...but maybe you saw that...hehe...thanx dude.

- Good funk groove
- Super nice bass guitar thump / bass drum whump
- Two really nice funk guitars - one clean one dirty.
- nice change ups (arrangement)
- Found the ending was abrupt not sure why - maybe needed some decay/tail... Just IMHO.
- overall punchy, clean, well mixed.

Main Riff sounds like....like..... like..... something I've heard before.... darn I'll have to get back to you on that.

Oh yeah - Parental Discretion advised - have you been listening to ZZTOP ;) Rated R (or maybe soft X) you do like those "touchy" subjects don't you?

- another nice one. always anxious to hear your tunes and always like 'em....

Thanx Ido...I think it's just a matter of knowing that I don't know enough to do anything more than keep it simple. I just go with what I know, experiment a bit and read alot. I think the main thing is having the drums sound good before even thinking about recording.

Dog, I hate you too....not!!!:)

Good ears...i think I should have let the song ring naturally at the end, but I slilenced it to leave no tail...Don't know if that was a good idea...i can always un-do that.

The riff reminds me of something, too, but I'm not sure...Could it be, CSNY's intro in their version of "Woodstock??? Their guitar is dirtier but has the same feel. Not sure.

Great tune again, the last couple have reminded me of Primus a bit. Wish I was as prolific as you. Keep 'em comin!

Just gave it a listen. RAMI, you you :) At least you have another song that talk about bush.

Man I got to say my favorite part of this song is the delivery on the lyrics in the verses. I mean that's not something that just anybody can do well.

Drums are as always very natural and making me feel that I can't replicate that on the drum machine. :)

Man, your guitar playing is pretty nice. The rhythm is very grooving.

I like this song a lot. :)

jpdubay: Thanx alot...I'm not that familiat with Primus, but have heard a bit. I like their sound. Thanx alot

Bigbubba: HAHA! Yeah, didn't really look at it that way, I do have another "Bush" song. The thing is, this one is about sex, the other one is about a much more disgusting Bush.

Toki: Thanx alot, my friend. I'm glad all the time I put into my sound pays off to some extent.

Hi Rami

I like the song a lot. The mix is simple and effective, we can hear everything.

Nice work.

/Jack Real.

Hey RAMI, just figured out what song the riff sounds like - Sail Away by Deep Purple. But it's not the whole riff just the last three descending notes/chords at the end. Man that kept me up last night and thinking this morning too....
Anyway - good tune again...... :D

A song about sex. Unacceptable. I will not listen to this.

You should get the funk on more often man. I really dig your funky songs! Your setup is sounding better and better, eveything sounds great to me. Very tight playing overall. BUT I think what makes this one different is the vocals... extra extra funky vocals. Very cool, love em. This makes you want to move, in fact I'M WAGGIN MY TAIL RIGHT NOW. That's right, can you dig?

Awesome funk, keep em coming

Oh, dude. Grandmasterfunkification. I'm all moist.

We need to get together and clinic sometime. I'll try to embue you with a little bit of my meatfunkmagix for your already stellar bass work, and you can teach me to rawk. I'm not complaining about the bass part or anything, but it's a little more prog than funk. No slap/pop, no chordal work, wuddup widdat? :) :)

But, this is a MAJOR chair-boogie piece. Word.

Ido, I am a huge Deep Purple fan, but am embarrassed to say I don't know "Sail Away"...it must be post-Blackmore. I'll check it out.

Snake...Glad I can get your tail wagging...That's all I really want iout of life, to see you wagging. :)

Llarion...I know it's a simple thump bass part, but I found the guitars filling up quite a bit, I couldn't see the bass doing too much more without it getting busy...I sort of wanted to the bass drum and bass to be "one instrument" in the verses. Not disagreeing with you though. I'm no bass player...I wish you were aroung last week, I put up a slightly more funky tune (I don't consider any of this real funk, by the way...just funk-Y) which was more bass oriented. I would have loved to get some comments and/or advice on that one from you. It's called "Jawbone of an Ass", if you get the time to listen to it.

I'll do so.. I've been scarce only because I'm a little burnt out these days. I can't get a new thread to post right now, either. :( Something fun to share with you.
