I recorded two intros to a song, I think both are fairly bad but which would you say is better? Entertaining Blizzard or Blizzard Entertains? Also, where could I use improvment on my recording techniques? I'm fairly new to this. Any other comments/suggestions are welcome.

here they are

You have to be a member to join up to hear them. If you add the MP3's to another site where I don't have to register I will give you my opinion.

i did not know that..whats a good website for hosting music?

Pretty sure you can stream the audio if you're not a member - just can't DL it. Depending on one's connection speed, though, streaming might not be a good option. For me, at home with a dialup, I have to use the lofi stream, which REALLY compromises the audio quality to the point where it's not worth it. So...that doesn't answer your question...maybe nowhereradio.com?

Imho

blizzard entertains is certainly better. though the chord that sits on top of the riff creates dissonances which are at first ugly-interesting, then quickly become ugly-boring, so i'd consider changing that from time to time. but don't get me wrong, i hear and like what you're going for.

Entertaing Blizzards sounds like you got some cheap plug-in and used one of the presets; and the slowing down & pitch shifting is generating artifacts which i think don't compliment the aesthetic.

also, if you're going to whop some electronic stuff in front of a straight jazz guitar instrumental, BE works better than EB cos the contrast is stronger.

and, watch your timing once you get into the song, specially on the rhythm guit (panned right).

(hope that wasn't aggressively critical...just being straight.)

hey thanks for the reply national, dont worry on being critical thats exactly why i posted this. and you're completely right i did just take a small loop from the song and give it a cheap present effect and loop it. i dont know what i was thinking, i never liked the sound of it. as for the other one..i kind of like it but maybe i should put it in a different song? i don't know.. it doesn't seem to fit in there. as for my timing, i know! arrg, i always record without a metronome and then when i try again with a metronome it never sounds quite like the first time..i just need to practice more...anyway thanks and hopfully more people will post.
