Which soundcard (need help fast)

Hey, got a bit of a prob - the guy building my new PC is placing the order tomorrow so I need to decide on a soundcard within the next 10 or so hours... Up until a few hours ago I was going for this:

However many of you told me this was rubbish... so now I don't know what to do. I need one for around £100 as I cannor really afford anything over...

I was looking at this:

but that isn't actually a soundcard as such is it?

What should I go for?

Go for an M audio 2496. An USB interface sound card might "lag" because the USB bus might be used by other peripherals.

PCI is the only interface you can fully rely on.

hmmm ok how about the m-audio one (which I have decided on anyway) but get the audigy aswell for better sound output?

I have the M-Audio audiophile 24/96 for $99 and it works perfectly. Audigy is for regular computer users' not musicians. audiophile is pretty cheap and affordable for low budget people
