Which sound card will best suit my needs

I already have a preamp for my mic & being a solo artist, I dont need multiple tracks or anything. Actually the integrated sound in my computer would work but the quality is pretty bad. All I need is a card suitable for home recording with a stereo line in & line out so I can just disable my integrated altogether.

Echo Mia or MiaMidi has better specified and measured sound quality than an audiophile and balanced i/o for more cash.

well, if the other card has midi capabilities thats already on the computer, Guitar Center had the Mia for $99....thats a steal........

I'm selling my Audiophile 2496 on Ebay and getting an Echo Mia. The Audiophiles inputs only go up to +2 Dbv(consumer), wheras the Mia will go up to +4 wich is pro level. I just talked to a pro engineer who told me to go with +4 and blanced. The Audiophile did it's job even though the box says it can be used for home theatre.....I know the Lynx would be best, but Im about to spend 1k on a great river mic pre.

Peace,
