Which sound card to use? Or does it matter much?

Hello All!

New here, just making my first post. I have just got the room to setup a little recording studi in my house.

Sweet!

I will be mainly recording accousic guitar and vocals with a little bit of electric guitar recorded as well. I have a Shure SM58 mic for recroding my electric guitar and am getting a Rode NT1A mic for vocals and accoustic guitar. I will be using a FMR Audio Really Nice Pre-Amp as my my pre amp.

Now here is my question.

Is there any highly recommended sound cards that I should use to connet the pre amp to my PC? Looked online and they a pretty much all the same as far as I can tell. Providing it has a line in I think I'm ok?? Do I need a sound card with a 1/4" line in inputs or is it ok to use the 1/8 to 1/4" jack converters.

You really need an interface to record properly on the PC or Mac.
Go here Tweak's Guide to the Home and Project Studio for some really good advice.
It's a very good read.
