im starting a home recording studio with a few friends, and i would like to know what would be the best choice for recording software. the stuff we'll be recording will be mostly local bands. right now i have a audigy 2 platinum ex, but my friend is looking at buying a delta 1010. both of our computers have plenty of power to run anything, and price isnt a factor. any help would be great. Thanks!

I really like Samplitude 7. It's a very sweet piece of software.

It's pricey, but if you're clever you can get the price down (i.e., find an old copy of samplitude on ebay and use the upgrade option, etc.).

The summing bus is among the best I've heard in a software system. The room simulator (convolution reverb) is almost worth the $500 (upgrade) price tag itself.
