good points on the mix buss affecting the sound too

thanks for clearing up that little problem of ours :D using cubase i record at 32bit float or true tape and 96khz. all of our recordings come out great. i know many people like cooleditpro, n-track and a few others like them, but what can they do that nuedno and wavelab can't.. i love cubase/nuendo/wavelab combo... thats what i mainly use in our studio

A truly great thread with lots of interesting viewpoints. In fact, it has put a few more bugs in my ear when it comes to my daw.

I'm a little of of my league, but I use Sonar XL and I like it.
I've got a 2408mkII, and the audio sounds pretty good. But
I'm pretty knew to recording, and my ear needs a lot of training.

My recent problem is in trying to have the midi sync clock go out to multiple midi ports. Sonar does not support that so I can't slave sync multiple synths without daisy chaining...which I am trying to avoid (daisy chainging).

So I'm looking for alternative. Sequoia and Samplitude sounds pretty good from this thread. But the price is a little steep for me right now...unless there was overwhelming evidence that it is the best. And I don't want to go Pro Tools cause everything cost so much.

I was looking at Logic Platinum. I was also looking at staying with Sonar and getting something like a midi express or unitor8.

As enlightening as this thread has been...I'm no closer to a decision. I love this website. You guys know so much.

I am happy with logic,

Many albums have been done on it that sounded good.

however, I saw this site, and it seemed that the downsampling algorhythm of samplitude sounded better
