I have Nuendo and pro tools LE - I wanna make beats and record vocals - I got a good deal on both together w/souncards and racks for each (Digi 001 and a DAC2000 ) The person who was supposed to install both programs on my comp said hes been having problems getting them running - Would it be easier to just use 1 of them and if so which one ?

Wow, you spent around £1500 on Nuendo just to 'make beats' and record vocals?! You must be loaded!

You could've just got Cubase SE or even a freeware progamme to do that.

As for making beats - you'd need some drum sound source, so consider getting a drum softsynth and some kind of drum pad MIDI controller.

You'll probably need some kind of synth for other instruments, otherwise it'll sound a little weird with just a beat and a vocal.

Of course he didn't......

I think I would have elected Reason for the beat making and saved myself $1700.

Anyway,

I would try buying the programs. That usually helps

Yup..ditto for me. Reason is a better "beat maker" than nuendo. because afterall, nuendo is a multitrack recorder.

The digi 001 is used - Are thos other programs professionl quality ? - I was told nuendo was perfect for what I needed - way too much sht out in the world to pick threw especially when ur new to this - I have a producer who plays the keyboard and a few friends that play the bass and guitar - so I just need some tracks to record the instruments and drums - and enough tracks for vocals - So should I get a new program to do what I need ? and if so do I need a rack and soundcard to run it on my comp ?? any thoughts ?
