I am planning to upgrade to a higher OS because I want to play with Sonar in "real time" with software synths.

I have Windows 98SE......

Here's my situation.........

Windows ME
___________

I have Windows ME full version. Since I have this OS, I was planning to put this on my computer. Although, I have heard that ME is a terrible OS and has sssoooooo many bugs. I have a computer at work and there was NO problems whatsoever with ME. At this point, I am not sure about putting it on my computer. The only good thing about it is that it has the WDM drivers I need for realtime "jamming" and it won't cost me a thing.

Windows XP
___________

I would have to purchase this software at full price or maybe at the upgrade price. It has the WDM drivers I need for realtime. A major problem is that my printer or palm pilot is not compatable, and I am not sure about my scannereither. All USB. My CD-ROM and DVD-ROM might not be compatable also. It supposed to have good "conversion wizards" but I dont trust it. ( everytime some company says that setup is easy, its usually not )

Windows 2000
_____________

This OS seems like to be the best option for me. Again, I will have to buy it outright but the hassles that I will avoid is well worth it. And, it is simular to Windows 98SE and doesnt look "cartoony" like XP does.

CAKEWALK says WINDOWS 2000 is what they reccommend between all 3 Operating Systems.

Thanks,

(Before all of this happening, I am going to do a full HD backup. Before that, I must scan for viruses. I just bought a firewire 1394 card and I will buy a external firewire HD soon for the HD backup)
