I will upgrade my little studio,
so please let me know what do you think its better:
setup 1:
ALLEN & HEAT GL2200 16ch. $1,900
2 LAYLAs 24 $1,400 total: $3,300
PIV with tons of ram.

setup 2:
TASCAM DM24 $2,500
2 TDIF (8 i/o each) $ 500 total: $3,000
PIV with tons of ram.
The setup 1,
I like the preamps of the mixer and its flexibility plus their DirectOuts in all channels. I have been working with laylas, so I already know them. I like them.
The setup 2,
I am affraid that one single box can do the job (DM24) of a mixer, good preamps, A/D convertion plus pluguins
but maybe it can make the job well.
So, for wich one of the setups is your vote???
PS: I Like PC recording, No mac or adat.
