Hi everyone,
I Need to upgrade my old crt monitor to an LCD monitor. I don't want to spend more than $450. In addition to recording music (primary use) I would also like to have a monitor that works well for digital photography and has a TV tuner.... maybe the TV tuner is a bad idea i.e. distraction!!

I am looking at the following 17" monitors, but you may have better suggestions, CNET gave both good ratings:

Samsung 170MP, 1280x1064,TV,analog, rating 8.0 - $450

Sceptre X7SV Naga, 1280x768 widescreen, TV, DVI, rating 7.7 -$450

The Sceptre has a 16:9 widescreen format. Might this format be better for displaying multiple windows i.e.console view and wave data view, -poor mans dual monitor!

What do you think

Thanks,

Why dont you just get a PCI slot tuner. So you could have the TV on your computer screen :D

Their are some decent LCD's on www.newegg.com that you might want to take a peek at.

I have had this Viewsonic going on for about a year. It is a 16:9 format (letterbox) which makes the videos look great. A bit more than you want to spend however.
