Hi! I've got a PC with a M-Audio Delta 44 soundcard. This soundcard doesn't have a pre-amp, so I have to buy a pre-amp or a mixer with pre-amps seperately.

I'd like to buy a mixer with 4 seperate inputs and outputs, so I can record and edit four tracks seperately in Cool Edit Pro.

Which mixers of approx. the same quality as my delta 44, do you guys recommend?

Thanx!
Robin

You would want the mixer to be slightly quieter than the card so as to not degrade any of your tracks if you are using it for input.

The Mackie would probably cut it....

sorry, my english isn't that good.. what do you mean with:
"The Mackie would probably cut it...." ?

Dat een Mackie waarschijnlijk wel goed genoeg is.

I won't make a habit of translating from english to dutch. But welcome aboard. :)

he means that the Mackie would work just fine. If you are on a budget you could also look into something like the Behringer mx1604a, from which you could send four separate channels to the sound card.

Just my 2cents. Let us not revisit the ol' mackie/behringer debate...

thanks! maybe i'm asking too much, but could you guys tell me which behringer and mackie mixers are options for me? lots of thanks!

there certainly are options besides Mackie and Behringer, but it's a place to start. Search ebay if you wanna buy used and save some money.

for mackie, look at:
http://www.mackie.com/products/vlzproseries/index.html
any of the models listed on that page would give you four separate channels to your soundcard...choose one depending on how many inputs/etc you want.

as far as Behringer, here's a link to the model i mentioned earlier. check out the other euroracks for similar models.

hope that helps,

also check out soundcraft, i've heard some good things from about them...like the M4. i might be getting a M8 soon.
