On a more serious note it's true it does depend on what you intend recording. I would actually consider the multipattern SP's B3 as a pretty versatile all rounder. Neither too dear or too hyped.
You would do well not to fall into the 'newbies' trap of buying the brightest mic you can find... so be careful when making comparisons not to assume the brightest mic is the most detailed one. You shouldn't have any trouble with the B1 or B3 in that department.
I can't comment on the C2000, just make sure it doesn't sound like the C3000.
What does a C3000 sound like?.... Do a forum search and you should get an idea!
If the C2000 sounds substantially brighter than a B1 or B3, and you want it as an 'all rounder', then be wary of it.... don't get sucked in by the 'hype'!
