Which Mic Keep?

I Need Some Cash So i need to choose Which Mic Sell and Which Keep.Help me out guys:

I Need One Lead Mic to record Vocals (Male And Female)I Could keep My SP B1 To Record Minor Percussion Tracks Like Guiros (I record Latin Music) And Background Voices,Probably a few Lead Tracks.

Option #1:

Sell My Shure KSM44 and Keep The Neumann TLM103

Option #2:

Sell the Neumann and Keep The KSM44 And Buy other Stuff.

Option #3:

Sell Both And Buy a AKG C-414B-ULS

Option 2...too bad we cant just take these back because of health reasons...but whichever direction...Im sure that you can turn it here...I might be interested in the KSM44 myself.

Multiple condensers are nice when you have a bunch of types of mics. I would sell one and pick up some type of ribbon. In your case either something like an Oktava, an Oktavamod, or a Beyerdynamic. Just a different animal.

so, do you recommend to keep the KSM44 and sell the Neumann and the B-1 And Buy a Ribbon?

OK option...but for what you can sell the neumann and the B1 for wont get you in the neighborhood of a ribbon worth having.

I have a friend with a U87ai, I sold him my KSM44. He likes the KSM almost as much as the Neumann. The U87ai doesn't get the love that the vintage U87s do, but it gets more love than the TLM103.

Interpolating, I would sell the TLM103, if for no other reason than I wouldn't want to lose multipattern.

You take a company like Shure and thier flagship model should compete well with any other companies best mics...even neumann...even the cost has been kept to a realistic point where the company is making a profit...Ill bet the u87 might even cost less to build entirely...Ive watched a youtube video where one was put together in less than 10 contact minutes.

In my opinion, you can get an extremely nice ribbon in that price range. An Oktavamod ML52 brand new is around $500 and is a great mic as is a Beyerdynamic M-160. This isn't even considering used oddball Beyers and Shures or picking up a used AEA. I go through gear pretty quickly, but I've kept most of my ribbons, especially that M-160. What a mic!

Well...I would reguard the Beyer as being halfway decent as a handheld ribbon...but the Neumann wont fetch over $600...and an upgrade from that would be a Royer.

It's important to remember that a Beyer is going to be a different animal than nearly any other ribbon. Do you own any Beyer ribbons? In my opinion an M-160 is my favorite mic for electric guitar. I'm not alone in thinking that it's a bit better than a "halfway decent handheld ribbon," Eddie Kramer used it on every Jimi Hendrix guitar track and the guitars on Led Zeppelin I and II (according to an interview with him in "Behind the Glass.")

I think it was the mics used on the "America" records...in the videos they are prominantly used.

Couldnt help on either...I didnt like my Rode NT1...so I dont reccomend Rode...but others here like it...so YMMV...Never used the M-Audio...but they are not a mic company so you have to wonder if it is rebadged chinese stuff...allways safe to stick with Shure...AKG...AT...and any other company that has made mics for decades and that has been where most of the research and development has culminated...like you dont want to buy an expensive mic from a company that was making peanut butter last week.
