Hi all, I'm new to digital recording and was going to buy the digi 001, I am familiar with Windows, but have never owned a Mac, it seems that most feel the PT works better on the mac, can anyone tell me how well it works with the G4 400mz mac, with say 128 megs of ram, thats probably the one most in my price range... does it really make much difference to move up to the next level say the 450mz mac? thanks all for any help on the subject...

I usually just order the "Big" Mac. Two for $2 right now!

To run the Digi 001 you'll need more like 192megs or more (more is better) on the G4. There won't be a big performance difference between 400 and 450 MHz

I'd say if you can afford the G4, a little extra RAM should be no problem. MAC ON! :D

P.S. HA!HA!HA! Ed, Eat a Whopper! :p

I agree with the previous posts. More RAM will help you out MUCH MORE than a faster processor. For example, I have a 333 Mac with 192 megs; it completes some processes that a 400 / 128 can't do at all. When you break down the pricing of most retailers, it's better to save money by sacrificing processor speed and gaining memory.
