Acoustic....tryin' to keep the art of actually playing a real, manipulative, instrument alive.
 
You're drums are manipulitive....? I thought that was only for wives and family. You should tell them off.
 
I use an electronic kit because I have no room for acoustic, plus the sound I'm going for is usually augmented and not a cheap emulation of an acoustic set...I WOULD just program them out, but I really really like drumming, and step sequencers make me crazy after about 20 minutes.
 
I have been using acid loops, editied in DP. Sounds OK but very limiting. I'm gonna invest in an E-kit so I can stay up late, jam or record whenever...

those of you who refuse to compromise the acoustic thing - I know where you coming from, but I bet you don't have to play within earshot of a wife!
