Finally I've money saved up for an Interface. I made a list of interface . Please tell me Which one I should go for from the list below. I've an xlr dynamic microphone and will use it for recording raps in my computer.
As I'm from India the interface costs almost double of its original price so please answer after thinking a bit And the interface you tell also tell if it is usb compatible and provides phantom power or not. The mic I currently have came with xlr to 1/4 jack. Will this cable Buy Online | Lowest Price | Free Shipping| Samson Tourtek TM10 Microphone Cable - Buy online at the guaranteed lowest price in India - BAJAAO - Buy online and Review Musical Instruments, Pro Audio, Studio, P.A. Audio Equipment in India work for connecting to the following interface

* Maudio Fastrack MKII

* Maudio Mobile Pre
* Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB 2.0 ( The site says it's an award winning Interface )

Ok, there's no point spamming the boards with duplicate threads.
This is one of those topics that has been covered to death.

To cut to the end, everybody will prefer the one that they own, and everybody else will say focusrite. :p
Focusrite generally gets great rep.

Personally I like presonus stuff. If you see the audiobox, take a look at it.

Yes, that cable will do fine. Any XLR female to XLR male cable will do. Don't worry too much about brand names or whatever.

Google will tell you if each of the interfaces has phantom power or not.
For your dynamic mic, you don't need it, but it's good to have for future upgrades.

The mic itself will have a more noticeable impact than the difference between these interfaces.
What mic have you got?

As I'm from India so there are no good international brands. And they are costly online. SO at present I have this mic Ahuja Sound Solutions . I'll buy a mic in future but at present I've to use this. It cost me almost 80-90$ .

So I saw the audiobox from presonus Buy Online | Lowest Price | Free Shipping| PreSonus AudioBox USB 2X2 USB Recording System - Buy online at the guaranteed lowest price in India - BAJAAO - Buy online and Review Musical Instruments, Pro Audio, Studio, P.A. Audio Equipment in India
The price is almost same of the focusrite and presonus. Should I go with Focusrite scarlett 2i2 or presonus?

My current setup is xlr cable from my dynamic mic goes into the 3.55m soundport of the computer ( Custom made cable ) . This is what I get from my current setup- http://goo.gl/BxtJD

Willl there be improvement after getting the interface?

As India has the biggest recording industry on the planet, I find that hard to believe. Why don't you contact some of the major studios and ask where they get gear from. And yes, I have been to India and more than once.

Believe me. You can get the stuff but from few cities. Not the one that I live in. There are only two websites which sell recording equipment and only one which sells audio interfaces which is trustful.

Buy a friggen interface already dood! Pick one! They will all be basically the same in your price range. Just do it already!

:)

Just One question. you say they will be the same. Here the focusrite cost 60-70$ more than the mkII. So i should buy fastrack mkII then?

Which city do you live in?

Jaipur, Rajasthan

I see, bit of a trip into New Delhi, I have not been to Jaipur, only New Delhi and Agra in that part of India. The on line shop you posted a link too seemed a good place to buy from?

Funny Jaipur has 3 Million people and no music shops and I live in a city of 1.1 Million and we have lots. However not every one in India can afford music shops and as I know a lot of music shops in India sell traditional instruments only.

We have music shops here. The only problem is they sell shure sm58 for 60$ which means they are chinese counterfeits. Definitely fake so those shops cannot be trusted and on the other side yeah most of them sell guitars etc. rather than audio interfaces.

That's the only online site here so I'm confused now? Some other sites sell the interface a little cheap but they dont have a return policy . http://goo.gl/Zswbd this site does.

The amazon.com site after the import duties the final amount is 164$ and the online site here is selling it for 230$. Should I go with amazon or the local site?
