Fancy Rock N' Roll
...I got dual HD in my DAW. Quantum 8.4GB 5400RPM, and Seagate 80GB 7200RPM.
Here's the connection...
Primary IDE --> Quantum 8.4GB 5400RPM (Master, OS WinXP Home) --> CD ROM (Slave)
Secondary IDE --> Seagate 40GB 7200RPM (Master, audio, few data) --> CDRW (Slave)
Both are connected using regular IDE cables.
I didn't have any problem with that, but recently, I tested (benchmark) the speed of the HDs using SisSoft Sandra Benchmark utility. I'm not sure what went wrong, but both HD is reported having same speed detected (5400RPM). Well, indeed the Asus MB comes with optional two different cables (regular IDE and 80 pin shielded IDE cable).
My question is, do I have to use the 80 pin shielded IDE cable (the one with black, grey and blue connector) to gain 7200RPM ? That's it. Thank you, beautifull people
