which first?

Hey,
just wondered if it makes a difference what order your rack gear is in when you mix down. i have a dbx compressor and an behringher enhancer. which would go first? thanx

Hmmm...I usually compress before EQ, and since an enhancer is basically an EQ in disguise, I'd suggest the same. I know sometimes people might do the opposite for effect, but I believe the standard treatment is compress first. Anyone think otherwise? I'd be interested.

The Enhancer, being a limited EQ device, can be put in either position. In the old days we used to put the BBE's in front of a tube crusher for giant rock guitars.
