Which delay is better?

Tey are a different beast so it really depends what you are after.

The DD-3 can have much longer samples but it is very clinical in its sound...

The AD will have not much dela time comparitively but will have a murkier, IMO, more musiscal delay sound.

Of course as I said in the first line. ... it depends on what you want...

I would have thought all pedals could be adjusted in realtime?

I know I could with my dd3 and my maxon analog...
???

not that my cmments matter, but have you tried that pedal?

I tried a bunch, and for me the Line 6 echo park fit the bill the best. I knbow it's not on your list, but I really liked the sound and flexibility of it.

Tat's one I never tried but then for the sound I wanted I figured either an analog delay or a tape echo would rock.
The problem I found with most analog delays is they tend to have only abour 300 ms delay. I ended up getting the ad999 but it was hugely expensive comparitively.
Of course it sounds excellent so I justify the cost that way :D

I really like the Line 6 modeller...it's $250 but every knob can be assigned to change with a $20 exp pedal. Plus you can store 3 preset, and has tap tempo. The Tape echo sounds great, and has wow&flutter. The backwards sounds cool, too.

$250 is not that bad I guess for a pedal. Some of the boutique one's get really pricey. I am looking at the captain coconut at the moment but that goes for around $400 and even then is still better than just a uni-vibe.
I suppose I have issues around some modellersbut each to their own...

I've got a DD3...don't use it. Sounds bogus to me and way too touchy when you're trying to get that "just right" sound.

The MoogerFooger pedals can be manipulated with control voltages via other MF pedals or CV pedals.

By changing the delay time you can use the delay as a pitch shifter. You can also modulate the feedback and mix controls with an oscillator, CV from a Minimoog, CV pedals, or any other 1volt/octave CV source.

None of the Japanese pedals offer this feature to my knowledge. Also, the MF104Z is the longest-time analog delay currently in production.

How long exactly?

You are right about the expression pedal thing... but then that worries me little cos I have a pretty static setting on my delay but then that could change at any time too....

I'd agree with you on this, I gave mine away and got a Guyatone micro MD3 from www.pedalgeek.com but on relfection I would have most likely been happier with the Ibanez.

I just picked up a Carl Martin Red Repeat - i love it. The right price (~$110) and sounds great.
