I know that Logic does but I'm using a PC. I have heard that the newer Cubase editions incorporate video recording. Can anybody verify this? Any other options?

The other question could be: "which video software package supports audio recording", and most do. You should check out Sony Vegas, which operates like Reaper, has audio tracks into which you can load all your VST and DX plugins.

Not quite sure what you mean by "video recording". If you mean editing your video footage, you're better off getting a video editor like GZ recommended. If you want to score music to a completed video, then yes, Cubase does it as well as Sonar.

peace,

What I mean is simultaneously recording audio through an interface and video through a web-cam (as a single take). Preferably as separate audio and video tracks so that I can mix the audio with eq,compression, etc.

So Sony Vegas can record the audio tracks as well? My firewire interface uses an ASIO driver. Then I can open the audio track file in any DAW for editing? After that merge/sync the audio back in Vegas? I would guess that is how it's done.

Yes, I think Vegas will do what you want.

Not only is Vegas a great video editor, it is a great multitrack Audio software. I have done many audio projects on Vegas without even using the video side.
