Which Computer?

I was using an AMD 1ghz athlon, and it would crap out on me when I got up to around 28 tracks... I just up'd to a AMD 2500+ with the barton core. Unbelievable improvement. The fan that came with the cpu is MUCH quieter than the one I had also. I paid 109 bucks for this upgrade, totally worth it. I'd go with AMD, I haven't had any problems. If you go with AMD, make sure you pay attention the cache, there's other things envolved with the cpu besides ghz.

sure it wasn't your ram? eh? processor will process, when the ram fills up, then things start crapping out...

eh, it could have been a heat factor, donno, motherboard monitor tells no lies though ;)

Yeah, had nothing to do with ram, same exact ram in my system as before. CPU matters... btw, I just overclocked my 2500+ to 3200+ :cool: I'm lovin' it! :D Can't beat that for $109...

ah, a man after my own heart ;) i was a clocker for years, eh, still am in gaming, amd has saved be big bucks over intel fluff and puff...

really, a 50 dollar 1700xp that does 2ghtz all day long at 39c is close to having sex they say and i agree at times :D
