Where to start?

Hi guys,

I've recently started up a studio, and I realized how hard it can be. I currently started a blog (see sig) which I hope to use to help out musicians out there who are interested. I've already invested $3000 or so, and the studio has been awesome. Let's say you are a total newbie - where do you start? Let's start a thread with a compliation of websites, so we can just point users here if they have any simple questions.

It sounds like a cool idea for you to do, but honestly, this entire board is pretty much that, and you can skim through it all to find almost anything you need. The question of "where to start" has been asked by literally hundreds on here, asking for all different needs and costs, it's just a matter of sorting through the info to find what you want.
