Where To Start?

Iv been in a band for 2 years and we havent fort about home recording (mainly because there all tossers lol) well i quit that band a few weeks ago and started a new one, we got a few cool songs on the go and are considering home recording to get a demo out, we have got about £600 (dunno how much $`s that is sorry) any suggestions on what multi track recorder we should get? sorry if this post is in the the wrong but i only just sign up lol

Take a look in Korg, Roland and Yamaha catalog...they have all products in your range.
For choosing consider the number of simultaneous rec tracks and the number of preamps in primis.
