Do any of the UK people here know of any mail-order places that stock the C1? Can't find any!!

I've e-mailed the UK distributors, who are linked to on the Studio projects website, and I'm waiting for a reply.

What's the UK price? About £200?

Check out sweetwater and all those other US internet distributers... Im sure they ship international...

Good Luck

I think it would be just out of my price range if I had to pay for international shipping too.

I saw a couple of usegroup posts from UK people saying they bought one, so I'm sure there are a few UK companies that stock them - it's just finding out which ones!

I e-mailed Alan at PMI. Someone from the UK marketing company is going to get in touch with the UK dealers.

Only just saw that you are a regular on this board! :D

Thanks btw. Julian got in touch with me with all the details.

Glad to hear it Axe, let me know what he charges you, or what a dealer charges there. I need to keep up on the pricing to make sure the distributors are selling fairly to keep it close to the American price. I give them big discounts to allow for the freight, duty, and taxes, so if they sell at retail of $299.99 US, or about 205 quid, then that is fair. Otherwise, if you get a deal in the US, pay freight, duty and tax, it would be the same or more, plus no support.

At 279 pounds, that would make the V67 $405.00 in the UK. The C1 is only 200 pounds, so that is $299.99 in the UK...Well that makes us much less money...

Too bad Sounds live is not a dealer. Perhaps some of you UK guys should hound them to become a dealer for Studio Projects.

See Gidge, I told you less is often more...:D :D :D

This was the pricing info I was quoted from WMA:

"The suggested UK retail price of the C1 is £217 + carriage + VAT = £265.55. However, because of the US street price which is $229 + freight = $309, we are selling the microphone at £220 including carriage and VAT."

And for that price I could get a AT4033 + Popper Stopper + Shockmount Package Deal from www.digitalvillage.co.uk, so I'll have to have a think!

you got me on that one.....

less is more?...tell that to my wife:eek: :D  :p

Axe,

Well all sales in the UK are subject to VAT, and I know that is about 17%, so to include the VAT and freight, I think 220 pounds is not a bad deal. I won't bag the 4033, it is a good mic, but many choose the C1 because of its rich yet transparent sound. The 4033 has a nasty bump in the midrange, so vocals tend to have a nasal quality, however this may be what you are looking for.

I think the cost of the C1 is good, and I thank you for letting me know. Good luck to you no matter what mic you get :D

I'm leaning towards the C1...I was considering getting the AT3035, but then I realised I just liked how it looked - no reason to buy it!! :)

I'm just looking for a good all round mic, but mainly for vocals - it'll be my first proper one. Up until now, due to budget constraints and the fact that I'm a poorly Uni student, I've been using a battered up old karaoke mic!!!

BTW, does the C1 have a roll-off or 10db switch? I read a post somwhere that said the new versions did.

Axe,

Yes, the C1 has a roll off and a pad. Make sure WMA gets you that version. You will love this mic for vocals. It will bring you joy...I promise :D
