What are you trying to calibrate? Just watch the meters on your dat to get the level.djclueveli said:i'm tryna to calibrate my DAT with my mixer so where to i find a 1kHz line-up oscillator? and how do i hook it up and perform test?
djclueveli said:yea i hooked the mixer up to my sound card using the rca (red n white cords) running from my mixers REC OUT into the sound blasters line in. is that the right way to hook it up? man i dont even know how to make the sine wav to begin with LOL. can u just explain the steps i needa take in sound forge to do this so i wont keep bothering u over and over LOL. thanks
It's easier to visualize the signal flow if you say that you connect from the line out to the mixer. (follow the signal flow, it's less confusing)djclueveli said:i connect the rca cable from my mixers 2TRIN to my sounds blasters line out (the green one) and then with the master fader and the 2TRIN fader set to zero,

Set the windows fader at unity (0), plug the output of your sound card into the mixer. Set the master fader on the mixer so the meters read 0db. now set the record levels on the DAT machine so the meters on the DAT machine read -12db.djclueveli said:so i go to my windows mixer and pull the analog mix down? man im confused. OK this is my gear.
Yamaha Mg 10/2 mixer

When did I say anything about setting the windows levels?djclueveli said:ok so now isee. so to get the windows recording levels to -12db,
