GO HABS GO !!!
Yeah baby!!!!

Thanx alot for the comments and suggestions, guys. It's much appreciated. When I re-mix this, I'll bring up the vocals in the verses (talking part), and tame the bass overall a little bit.

Thanx alot.

Good stuff, Rami...

I know you post quite often, and I´m sure you already answer this question...
but, do you mind sharing you signal chain (especially for drums)?

Do you use always the same gear?

Thanks!
J.

Nasty song, man.:) Tight performance. Funky and live sounding. I agree with the bass and vocal level comments.

At the beginning of the song I think you've got the guitar tone balanced well with the drumset when it comes in at the 5th bar. Before that the guitar alone sounds too midrange-y. Personally, I'd start the intro at 5th bar, with the drums doing the upbeat before.

Thanx alot, Julian.

My set up is pretty simple. Most of my stuff goes straight into my TASCAM 2488, or passes through my FOCUSRITE Voicemaster pre-amp.

For drums, I use 4 mics: AKG D-112, kik. Shure SM-57, snare. 2XAKG C-1000s, overheads. Everything goes straight into the TASCAM except for the kik, which goes through the pre-amp and gets compressed a little bit on the way in.

My bass is an Ibanez and that goes straight in.

Guitar is a Start through a Yamaha DG-Stomp box, into a Peavey Studio Master, from which I just use the speaker to mic with a 57. That goes straight in, too.

Vocals, I have a AKG C3000 which goes through the Focusrite with a little bit of compression and low cut.

Yeah, nice idea. I don't start many (or any) of my songs with the drums. Didn't cross my mind, but might be better. The guitar intro was a no-brainer, in the sense that if, I used my imagination, I could have had a less contrived intro. Thanx alot, Tim.

Rami, I use a very similar amp (an Express 112) but I can´t find -almost- any good tone with my Strat... Any tips? (should I get a pod to use with the Peavey?)
