Where do you buy laptops??

I would like to get one from Best Buy, so I could get a service plan and take it there for servicing/repairs. But, after looking, They do not have what I am looking, so where do you buy from? Online seems a bit chancy, because if you had a problem, where would you take it?
 
You can still get warranties and stuff online...you just ship it off and they ship it back. No big deal really.
 
I bought all my laptops at Bestbuy or Circuit City (before they closed) for the same reason but Guitaristic is totally correct - the online places offer warranties just the same - Not sure if Newegg offers one but they have good prices and selection.
 
Whatever you do avoid buying them from Guitar Center. Their warranties are not worth the hassle.

lol. I'm just saying all of their warranties go through Pro Coverage. They don't fix it. They send you a check for the amount you paid for the item. It takes a ridiculously long time to get the check too.
 
Staples was where I got mine. Quite content with their service, they have a good selection of peripherals, and at least a few of their associates know what they are talking about. I like them because they are more small business oriented, as opposed to strictly consumer. I don't have Office Depot near me, so I can't compare.

best buy, got an asus u56, plus accidental drop and spill coverage. very nice, and I've never had a problem with their warranties and I've used them many times on other devices but not on my computer yet. It runs cubase 6 64bit, podfarm, and ezdrummer all at the same time very smoothly and it can be up-gradable in case you were wondering.
 
look at the computers at Office Depot too. Good selection and prices.

I know I avoid them like the plague!
 
The last lappy I got was right here on HR, in fact, if anyone is selling an old lappy I take them off your hands just PM me and we will take it from there.
 
I buy my laptops from a specialised laptop centre, the reason?
24 Hour tech support in the price,
They have their own repair centre where they repair the laptop if needed (not sent away for months),
Good deals on extended warranties (I only ever do this for laptops)
And experts that know what they are talking about.

Price difference? They are within 10% of the discount stores.

Official answer: I got mine from Best Buy.

Unofficial answer: I buy my laptops at places that sell laptops!
